My name is Marisa! I'm from Sparta, New Jersey. Yes, Sparta, as in the movie 300. I have an older sister at Arizona State University and a younger brother back home in high school. Both of them are now Juniors. I'm extremely excited for my experience here at Penn State ! I don't know too many people here from my school so i'm excited to embark on a new chapter of my life that is separate from my life back home.
I played lacrosse in my high school, but I quit two years in because my coach was completely unbearable. I still love the sport! My friends have taken place of my family and it is incredible difficult to not be with them everyday. I've changed my hair color a million times simply because I can't decide which one i like better, but I feel like that's part of the fun of being young! I feel like i'm a loud person, but I blame that on my obnoxious italian family. I'm proud of how crazy we all are because we are all so close and I couldn't see it any other way.
My schoolwork has always been my top priority and now in college i'm finding it incredibly difficult to balance it all and it is completely terrifying for me. I'm always on top of my work, so I don't expect anything to change while being here! I'm in the DUS program because I have no idea how on earth anyone knows what they want to do with the rest of their life. I change my mind every single day and it is driving me crazy that everyone already knows what they want to be. I guess part of the fun of being here is trying out a bunch of different majors until I'm happy with one.
I'm deathly afraid of spiders, it's a really serious problem of mine. If I see one or even hear the mention of one I might cry. There are certain foods that are a complete weakness of mine. If they are placed in front of me I can guarantee you that they will be gone in a matter of ten minutes. That include York peppermint pattys, Nutterbutters, and glass popems. Completely random but I'm absolutely obsessed. I own every season of One Tree Hill. I could waste my entire day watching a marathon of it. I love the show even though so people think it's stupid it entertains me. I watch it so much sometimes I get their life confused with my own. It's a very confusing mistake. Most of the things in my room are blue because I love it. I tried to venture out this year and add some pink and to be honest it's really bothering me.
These are just some completely random facts about myself to get an idea of the type of person I am :)
